Solar street lamps are a new type of energy-saving and environmentally friendly street lamps. They will not retain garbage and will not affect nature. Therefore, many urban lighting projects currently prefer to choose solar street lamps. However, there are often customers who report that the lights of solar street lights suddenly do not light up, and it is suspected that the quality of the street lights is a problem. In fact, except for a small part of quality problems, most of the reasons are because your installation method is incorrect. Let’s take a look at the following six wrong installation methods:
1. Installed in a place with a lot of shelter
The working principle of solar street lights is that during the day, the solar panel absorbs the sun and stores it in the battery. At night, the battery converts sunlight into electrical energy to supply power to the street lights. At this time, the lights will be on. But then again, solar panels need to absorb sunlight to store electricity. If the street lamp is installed in a place with a lot of shelter, such as being blocked by many big trees or buildings, it will not absorb sunlight. So the light will not be bright or the brightness is relatively dim.
2. Install near other light sources
Solar street lights have their own control system, which can identify daylight and darkness. If you install another power supply next to the solar street light, when the other power supply is on, the solar street light system will think it is daytime, and it will not light up at this time.
3. Solar panels are installed under other shelters
We all know that solar panels are composed of multiple strings of cells. If one string of cells is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, then this group of cells is equivalent to useless. The same is true, if the solar street light is installed in one place, there is a certain shelter in that place that blocks a certain area of the solar panel, and this area cannot be exposed to sunlight for a long time, so the sunlight cannot be converted into electrical energy. The battery in that area is also equivalent to a short circuit.
4. Install lights on both sides of the road, and the solar panels are tilted face to face
It should be very common to install lights on both sides of the road, but there will also be a problem, that is, the sun will only rise from the east. If the street lights on one side face east and the street lights on the other side face west, then there will be There may be one side that is facing away from the sun, so that it does not receive sunlight because it is facing the wrong way. The correct installation method should be that the solar panels face the same direction, and the solar panels on both sides can absorb sunlight.
5. Solar street lamps are charged indoors
Some customers will install solar street lights in carports or other indoor spaces because it is convenient for lighting. But if it is installed indoors, the solar street light will not work, because its battery panels are completely blocked, it cannot absorb sunlight, and there is no sunlight that can be converted into electrical energy, so it cannot be illuminated. If you want to install solar street lights indoors, you can install the solar panels and lights separately, let the panels charge outdoors, and light the lights indoors. Of course, we can also choose other lighting for indoor lighting.
